Well, to all in the U.S., anyway. The LiveSide folks pass along this announcement from the Live Mesh forums:
Live Mesh is now openly available to anyone in the U.S.
The Live Mesh team is pleased to announce that anyone in the U.S. can now use Live Mesh just by signing in to www.mesh.com with a valid Windows Live ID. No sign up needed to participate!
If you’re outside the U.S., you apparently have to change your region and language settings to EN-US, which might be a dealbreaker for some.
Anyway, the current release of Live Mesh is an excellent way to sync files across machines and make them available “in the cloud.” Give it a try.
Update: The Live Mesh team has more details, including the news that there’s a cap on the number of new registrants:
This week we did two things:
- Doubled the maximum number of users we’ll allow to access the Live Mesh Technology Preview.
- Simplified the Tech Preview sign-up process. We’ve removed the requirement to sign up via Microsoft Connect, so that instead you can sign up directly from www.mesh.com.
So if you’re thinking of signing up, don’t wait too long…
“Thanks for your interest! Our tech preview program is currently full. If you’ve already signed up, we’ll send you an e-mail as soon as more space is available.”

Artur, I’m not sure what happened with you, but I just went to a VM and signed up using a Live ID that had not previously been signed up. It worked just fine and I now have a brand new Live Mesh account.
I just signed in as well with no problem.
Tried to sign up from Canada with US region and US English language using passport. Same message as Aurtur. Suspect passport’s localization data is negating the OS localization changes. A Live ID may work.
Its working now. BTW Im in Portugal.
In my main machine (Vista English Firefox 3) it showed me that message. I changed some region settings to USA and even the region of my live account. Nothing.
I rebooted and now is working. I think it was some problem with the login.
I put it to work in a Windows XP tablet English in Firefox 3 without changing anything.
I’m in the States and I am still getting the same message Artur had, “Please join our waiting list.”
The URL for this page is https://www.mesh.com/Web/Error.aspx?msg=notOnAllowList&. I wonder if I’m on some kind of “do not call” list?
