The majority of mac/oss religion-goers blame MS in the first place for the advent of adware and spyware. This helps to put a containment on that claim because MS is freely providing a tool to resolve these problems. Monopolizing really wouldn't come into play unless MS incorporated the Anti-Spyware into its OS as default. It’s the smartest move MS could ever make.
