Hello, I recently purchased a 42" Samsung HDTV, it was plugged in through the wall to standard cable and it picked up quite a few HD channels without any other boxes or accessories. I am an expert when it comes to high definition content, and can confirm the channels really are in high definition. It sounds like what was happening with Bill Israel.

if people are still having trouble out there try Vista MediaCenter Decoder Utility (http://mediacenterexpert.blogspot.com/2006/07/vista-media-center-decoder-utility.html). It fixed my 'restricted content' problem that I've had for a while.

It isn't a technical issue, it is a legal issue.

Streaming over a network, even a home network, to an extender can be construed as illegal distribution. So while you CAN do it with a few tweaks to the registry and renaming VOBs to MPEGs, it will never be officially supported out of the box unless the law changes.

No... I'm fairly sure they mean any Vista MC system... This should be one of the first cards you can purchase as a stand alone item, you won't need to buy it from an OEM in a pre-built system like the ATI model...

GO CETON GO! I want this Technology!

Try TVersity, though I couldn't get it to be seen by my DirecTV HD21 however Orb worked like a charm.
Remember that the DirecTV Media Center is still Beta.
Subscribers to cable are like, well subscribers to AOL.

I enjoyed your Sep 2003 article on CD Burning and you asked what to do with the several floppies you have lying about. That's an easy one. Format them with FreeDOS and use them to remove those files that report "Cannot delete this file because it is being used by Windows" files that your anti spyware and malware programs report as being "fixed" though of course they never are.
