Well, maybe. This announcement from Ceton Corp. does say "Coming Soon," and we all know long soon can be. Anyway, with a single card, they say, you can

watch and record Cable programming via the new multi-stream, bi-directional CableCARD, the M-Card. Pause, rewind, fast forward, and record live TV utilizing Media Center’s Digital Video Recorder. Transfer video to any TV throughout your house using an Xbox 360 or any Media Center Extender. Includes two High Definition ATSC QAM Digital Tuners to record two channels simultaneously while playing a third program from the PC’s hard disk.

Oh, the possibilities.

It’s said “soon” for nearly six months, however without CableLabs finishing the specs Ceton can’t release anything two-way.

    I wouldn’t expect it until Windows 7.

MOCURs on the other hand will likely be out this year and will give you the M-Card capability but no two-way (SDV, PPV) abilities.

There’s something else funny on their product page that left me scratching my head…

They indicate that this card will work with any Vista PC: “Interfaces with any Microsoft Vista PC with Media Center.”

Of course, they mean any CableLabs-certified PC, right? RIGHT? (i.e., tell me I’m wrong!)

No… I’m fairly sure they mean any Vista MC system… This should be one of the first cards you can purchase as a stand alone item, you won’t need to buy it from an OEM in a pre-built system like the ATI model…

GO CETON GO! I want this Technology!
