Matt Goyer points to CNET’s glowing review of the Sony Vaio XL1 Digital Living System. It’s the first DVD changer specifically designed to work with Windows XP Media Center Edition.

I have my doubts about whether a DVD changer is really a good idea. (I’d much rather have the ability to store digital copies of DVDs instead of having to use a clunky media changer.) But even without considering that objection, I can’t recommend this product.

The problem? It’s from Sony, a company which in the past two weeks has established beyond any reasonable doubt that it has nothing but contempt for its customers.

I love my Sony DLP TV, but if I were in the market for a new TV today I would buy anything but a Sony (Samsung makes some great models). I won’t buy anything with the Sony name on it, including Vaio PCs.

Unfortunately your advertising is still reccomending Sony Products.
Specifically a “Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV 30HS420 30′ TV”.

Do the let you filter certain products?

  • Ed Bott says:

Alas, I can’t filter out specific products. I can only control the words and search terms used to select products.

There is no such thing as a Sony DLP TV. Its either LCD or SXRD.

I have a media center pc and two linksys extenders. I just bought a sony vgp-xl1b changer without doing enough homework evedently. I can not believe it wont stream over the extenders. Is someone working on a software fix for that. I am going to dump the changer if it does not look like that is going to happen. I dont get the point of it if you cant extend it. I like the idea of not having to rip movies to a hard drive and no more kid distruction, but if it only works in my office what good is that going to do. I am looking for any solution to this if you can help.
