If you’re planning to purchase or build a Media Center PC, you should definitely bookmark the Designed for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Logo Partner List.

It’s updated regularly, and it should be your first step when you go shopping for components and upgrades. A caveat: It’s not exhaustive, so you may find that a product you were thinking about buying isn’t on the list but has a Media Center-certified, signed driver. That was the case with the integrated ATI 9100 graphics on the Shuttle small-form-factor PC I built last year.

Over the next few months, I plan to build my own version of this list with some in-the-field reviews of hardware and software.

I recently bought a 2nd hand Shuttle ST61G4 to build into a Media Center PC, but I’m having extreme difficulty getting MCE to recognise the onboard ATI9100 graphics card.

Did you resolve your issues and have you got any pointers for getting the right drivers installed / MCE recognising the video card.

    Many thanks for any advice.

    Gary.
