Chris Lanier passes along the download link to a brand-new update package for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The April 2006 Update Rollup flew in completely under my radar, I must admit. The KB article documenting the changes is here.
Before you can install this update, you have to install Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The April 2006 Update Rollup is cumulative and replaces three separate update packages released since Update Rollup 2.
I’ll look into it and report what I find out.

HELP! I’ve installed ALL updates, including this one … and still I can’t view any of the content I recorded from the premium channels during a recent free-view weekend. I get the “blue screen of restricted content” which microsoft blaims on the content providers.
I once was able to see the content by resetting my system calendar to the day it was recorded… but apparently that doesn’t work all the time. I was even allowed the opportunity to watch them once! Has a solution or workaround of any kind been found, yet? THANKS!!
